Dalis Allen is the producer of the Kerrville Folk Festival and is fondly referred to at Quiet Valley Ranch as, “The Empress.” Dalis spends her festival “down time” coordinating the Southwest Regional Folk Alliance. Dalis is penning a history of the New Folk Competition at the Festival which has brought a lot of new songwriting talent to light and has given them a chance to develop a following. Now in their 44th year, this year’s festival looks to be the best yet.
